Information for Pilots... Pilots arriving to the area by air are in luck. Rutherford County Airport (KFQD) is a beautiful little country airport with all the facilities you'll need for your stay, including fuel, tie-down (or gang-hangar) space, and the Five-Seven Alpha Cafe, one of the smallest and memorable restaurants you're likely to come across in your aviation travels. Cabin in Hidden Hills is a ten minute drive from the airport. FQD is serviced by localizer, NDB, and GPS approaches, has a 5,000x75 ft. runway, features pilot controlled lighting, and is very well maintained. The folks at Leading Edge Aviation will take good care of you during your stay. Give them a call at 828.287.0800 and they can arrange to have a rental car waiting for you at the airport. An alternate choice for arrival would be Asheville Regional (KAVL) which features an ILS approach. If rental cars are not avaialable at FQD you can try Asheville.
